The CONGRESS: where the community meets
The conference of GIS Asie concentrates on assessing progress, discussing projects, raising concerns and promoting awareness of research on Asia and the Pacific to the scientific community. In 2015, the previous meeting of 500 participants engaging in parallel sessions of 140 panels.
Anticipated by researchers of Asia who primarily study in the fields of humanities and social sciences, this major event offers a foundation for exchange and collaboration of research.
It provides a window into the current interdisciplinary and intercultural work on Asia in France. Researchers take part in thematic panels that discuss and represent comparative points among specialists and experts.
The panels assemble and connect participants, mainly doctoral candidates and young researchers, from various cultural areas and/or disciplines. Many of these fields compose of humanities, social and hard sciences, economics, business, diplomacy and the media.
